Diederik Gelderman
Diederik is an author, an award-winning veterinarian, and a much sought after veterinary business coach.
Being drawn to horses at an early age, Diederik participated in equestrian competition from the age of five through to his second year of University, when he devoted all of his attention to completing veterinary school.
Upon graduation from veterinary school he purchased a small, one-person clinic. He rapidly grew the clinic into a business with four locations, eight veterinarians, and a large support staff. In 2004, the practice won the Pfizer/AVA Practice of Excellence Award and came 3rd in the Fujitsu Customer Service Awards.
Diederik began coaching veterinary professionals with his Turbo Charge Your Veterinary Practice seminars in 2004. By 2009, his seminars expanded internationally to Hong Kong, New Zealand, Europe, South Africa and the United States. That same year, he sold his practice, allowing him to concentrate full-time on his passion for helping veterinary practices achieve business excellence. However, the call of clinical practice is still so great that Diederik still spends one day every week doing clinical work.
Since establishing his worldwide reputation as a coach to veterinarians wanting to improve their profitability, he has coached or consulted with more than 350 small to medium-sized enterprises in a diverse range of industries.
Diederik’s professional associations include the Australian Veterinary Business Association of which he was president in 2015 and 2016. He is also a member of the Australian Veterinary Association Practice Management group, Vet Partners, the Australian Veterinary Association, the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the Australian Association of Practice Management, the Australian Association of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
In his spare time, Diederik enjoys scuba diving, playing chess, reading, horse riding, and competing in squash. He also speaks Dutch, French, German, Spanish, and Italian.
He has travelled and worked throughout France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, USA, Spain, Fiji, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand, South Africa, Hong Kong, and many of the Pacific Islands.
Diederik Gelderman is the author of Veterinary Success Secrets Revealed and lives in the beautiful Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia with his lovely partner Jennifer, his horses, donkey, dogs, cats, birds, alpacas and pet cows.
