Author, wellness coach and personal trainer
Megan Coburn is an author, wellness coach and personal trainer who lives in Melbourne.
Throughout her life, Megan has faced a wide variety of family illnesses and personal challenges, most recently overcoming breast cancer. Despite her emotional upheavals and setbacks, from her darkest time she has discovered her strength and became empowered to change.
Megan’s goal is to reduce the stigma around mental illness and contribute to the reduction of suicides within Australia. She wants others who struggle from mental illness to know they are not alone, that support is available through different avenues and that this disease doesn’t discriminate.
In 2015, Megan completed a level one wellness coaching course and also completed a Certificate 3 & 4 in Personal Training at the Australian Institute of Fitness.
Megan is passionate about giving back to the community in which she lives and is an enthusiastic fundraiser and volunteer for causes close to her heart. She led a team of 80 to raise $70,000 for a charity in support of her sister “Running for Others.” She also enjoys volunteering for the Love Me Love You foundation which is a youth-focused, not for-profit organisation that aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing outcomes of young Australians.
In her spare time, Megan has enjoyed coaching and playing netball, finishing a 56 km walk, running a half marathon, completing a flying trapeze course and exploring the world.
She has travelled and worked throughout Australia, New Zealand the United States, Spain, Portugal, Italy, London and Croatia.
