Chris Christoff
Author, Real Estate Investor and Developer, Project Manager and IT Professional
A fundamentally shy person, Chris has worked hard throughout his life to transform himself into the active and accomplished person he is today. To prepare himself to excel at university, he studied transcendental meditation. His mental focus helped him accomplish many goals, including developing a cardio visualization device, learning to pole vault using mental visualization, graduating in 1980 with a degree in electrical engineering, and completing an MBA in 1998 while working 80-hour weeks as an IT manager.
After university, Chris began a long and rewarding career as an IT professional. Chris built one of the Queensland government’s first state-wide computer networks. Chris worked for various public and private organizations in IT General Manager roles, responsible for the development and operation of business-critical IT infrastructure, managing teams and departments and managing IT projects.
In his last IT role, as Project Manager for the 2014 G20 Global Leaders’ Summit held in Brisbane, Australia, his work managing the design and installation of an IT infrastructure of 3,000 devices across 20 venues was formally recognized by the Australian Prime Minister. Chris also received appreciation from the U.S. White House Communications Agency for his work with the U.S. Secret Service.
Having purchased his first house back in 1984, Chris started a lifelong love of real estate. Chris and his wife, Karen, fully restored the old Queenslander and sold it for a 200% profit. Chris bought his first investment house in 1999 and dedicated himself to learning everything he needed to know about renovating. Over the years, he has studied property investment and development with many property gurus.
Always interested in self-improvement to counter his shy nature, Chris has also studied personal development and growth starting with the books, “I’m OK, You’re OK” and “What Do You Say After You Say Hello?” in the 1980s. Chris follows the writings and seminars from many authors, speakers and motivators.
Adventurous and inquisitive, Chris has traveled and worked throughout Australia, the United States, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Fiji. Professionally, Chris is a member of the Australian Institute of Project Management and the Australian Institute of Management.
Chris Christoff is the author of, “Goal Setting for People Who Can’t Set Goals – Proven Tools and Techniques to Achieve Anything You Want” and lives on the Gold Coast, Australia with his wife Karen. Chris is now a full time property developer. Chris and Karen have three children – an IT project manager, a veterinary surgeon and an engineer. Chris is also attempting to learn Spanish.
