Steve Coleman
Author, Educator, Entrepreneur, Pilot & Outdoorsman
Steve is an author, educator, father and outdoorsman. While a Cadet Under Officer in the North Queensland Squadron Air Training Corps, Steve made his first solo flight at the age of 18. After being awarded a teaching scholarship, he attended James Cook University and University of New England. Steve’s training helped him enjoy 18 years as the Outdoor Education Coordinator for Townsville Grammar School.
When his entrepreneurial spirit inspired him, he resigned from full-time employment and started his own education company. He now contracts to numerous schools, colleges, businesses, youth and sporting organisations.
He also enjoys the outdoors. Since 1985, Steve has led more than 30,000 children and young adults on excursions, expeditions and camping trips. Additionally, he is an avid supporter of skydiving, mountaineering and marathon running.
Steve has worked with a wide variety of companies, schools, and organisations. The list includes several Queensland high schools, most of the private secondary schools in Townsville and hinterland, several local sports clubs, Youth Services of Queensland, several Army cadet units and Queensland Guides and Scouts.
His professional associations include the International Yoga Teachers Association, Queensland College of Teachers, Queensland Writers’ Centre, Townsville Writers and Publishers’ Centre and Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation. He is also a Registered Consultant with Kolbe Corporation in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
Steve has lived, travelled and worked throughout New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, USA, Canada, Singapore, UK, Malaysia and the Cook Islands.
Steve Coleman is the author of “Decisions, Decisions!” and four children’s books; “The Bee’s Knees,” “The Ant’s Pants,” “Naree the Fire Lady” and “Jodi and The Turtle.” He lives in Queensland, Australia.
